Excessive Ugly, Thick, Black Hair And PCOS…

Do you suffer from excessive thick, black, ugly hair growing in places that should only be seen on a male?  Or have you noticed, like your great uncle Henry, your hair is embarrassingly falling out in a male balding pattern?

If you have PCOS, you may well know all about increased testosterone levels.

Bisphenol A – also called BPA – has been shown to increase testosterone synthesis *  And Bisphenol A has been found to be higher in PCOS women ^

According to The George Mateljan Foundation “BPA is a bioactive compound that is able to bind onto an estrogen receptor on the nucleus of a cell and modify its function. BPA seems able to cause changes in some types of cell functions at very similar concentrations to the naturally produced estrogen molecule called estradiol. Especially during the fetal period before birth, BPA is of special concern with respect to later life changes in the risk of chronic disease, reproductive ability, and cancers of the breast and prostate. BPA is often referred to as an “endocrine disruptor” because of its ability to disrupt estrogen receptor activity, alter fertility, and increase risk of reproductive system-related cancers later in life.”  (from http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=george&dbid=229)

So, my advice is avoid BPA!  Check out http://www.ewg.org/reports/bisphenola for info on how to do just this.
